However, I would posit that the real multi-player experience lies in a feature that not only s60 phones have built-in but indeed every phone and that is OTA connectivity. I don't like to boast with my dear employer's credentials too often but have a look at our WPT Texas Hold'Em game: fully connected, in-game chat, buddy lists, seamless web-to-mobile play, etc, etc. Don't you think that this might not be even more powerful?

Nokia has 40% market share and of this, say, 50% (of the new ones) are on s60 handsets. We currently see below 10% of all users downloading games, and that would mean that a focus (only) on s60 would bring the addressable market down to some 2% of all mobile users. It is very, very tough to make a commercially viable game for that.Volkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07339880292543596771noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7119509740820419095.post-75096860664928126782008-02-01T02:00:00.000+00:002008-02-01T02:00:00.000+00:00Nokia - Connecting People, let's me think of a mot...Nokia - Connecting People, let's me think of a moto for their new NGage phone, NGage - Connecting Gamers. Doesn't it sound great? Everybody konws all the s60 and new nokias are equipped with bluetooth, which can connect people and gamers! In the mobile game market, there isn't many of bluetooth connected apps or games. Even on the carriers' mobile portal, it's not easy to find a multiplayer bluetooth game. There is a whole bunch of "Cup and T-Shirt" like movie games out there in the market but not many multiplayer games. Either the game developer are not up to the technology or the carrier doesn't want to sell bluetooth games. The later one are likely to be true. or they both are not the reaons?! Any thought?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
